Increasing productivity in poultry farming

The purpose of the experiment was to determine the most profitable way to use the bioproduct BIOCHLOFEED to increase productivity in meat poultry farming and obtain finished products of high taste and quality.

The objectives of the experiment included:

  • Conduct the experiment from the hatching egg to the broilers before slaughter;
  • To determine the effect of the bioproduct BIOCHLOFEED on the incubation properties of eggs and the further development of broilers;
  • To determine the effect of the bioproduct BIOCHLOFEED on the mortality and weight gain of broilers, as well as the presentation and taste of the finished product.

Description of the experiment

The experiments were carried out in the production conditions of JSC «Vasilyevskaya Poultry Farm» in April-May 2019.

For the breeding stock of laying hens, tray drinkers were installed next to the flow-through drinkers, into which 30-40 liters of the bioproduct BIOCHLOFEED were added daily at the rate of 40-50 ml per head. The experiment was carried out in one workshop, half of which was experimental, where laying hens were fed with the bioproduct BIOCHLOFEED , the other half - control (the bioproduct BIOCHLOFEED was not used). Eggs were counted and collected separately from the experimental and control groups. In total, 4 thousand birds were involved in the experiment. The duration of the experiment was 30 days.

Broilers were fed the bioproduct BIOCHLOFEED from the first day of growing. The feeding rate increased from 5 ml at the beginning to 30 ml per head at the end of the experiment. The duration of the experiment was 42 days. The bioproduct BIOCHLOFEED in the experimental group was fed in such a way as not to make changes to the existing technology for raising broilers. Every week, chickens in control and experimental cages were weighed. 14 broilers were placed in each cage; the experimental conditions were the same.

Option one (Control)

There were 3625 eggs of the control group for incubation.

Option two (Experimental)
There were 2783 eggs of the experimental group for incubation.
Option one (Control)
1848 broilers (without feeding with the bioproduct BIOCHLOFEED).
Option two (Experimental)
1848 broilers (with feeding with the bioproduct BIOCHLOFEED).

Impact on incubation properties

When counting chickens after incubation, it was found that the control group received 2411 chiks, and the experimental group received 2310 chiks. The percentage of exit was 66.5% for the control group and 83% for the experimental group. Thus, in the experimental group, the yield of chickens compared to the control group was 24.8% higher.

Impact on mortality and weight gain

In the experimental group there were chickens obtained from eggs whose parents received bioproduct BIOCHLOFEED . In the control group - chickens with normal feeding. At the end of the experiment, the average weight gain per head in the experimental group was 1747, and in the control group it was 1578. The difference was 10.7%. Poultry mortality in the experimental group was 3.6 times less than in the control group, and sanitary slaughter was 4 times less. The total losses during the period of poultry rearing in the control group were 17.7%, in the experimental group 4.8%.

Final results

1520 heads of the control group and 1760 heads of the experimental group were received for slaughter. Thus, 240 more broilers were received for slaughter in the experimental group. The live weight of the broilers in the control group was 2586.2 kg, in the experimental group - 3101.4 kg. As a result, the live weight in the experimental group was 515.2 kg more, which is 19.9%. At the end of the experiment, the condition of the internal organs, presentation and taste of the carcass meat in the experimental group were significantly better than in the control group.

Main conclusions:

Thus, the use of bioproduct BIOCHLOFEED in poultry farming allows:

  • Improve the incubation properties of eggs and increase the yield of chickens by 25%;
  • Increase weight gain during fattening of broilers by 10.7% and reduction in mortality to 2%;
  • Increase the slaughter weight of broilers by 20% (without additional costs for feed).
  • Receive organic products of high quality and taste
