Increasing productivity in poultry farming
The purpose of the experiment was to determine the most profitable way to use
the bioproduct BIOCHLOFEEDⓇ to increase productivity in meat poultry farming
and obtain finished products of high taste and quality.
The objectives of the experiment included:
- Conduct an experiment on raising broiler chickens;
- To determine the effect of the bioproduct BIOCHLOFEEDⓇ on the development of broiler chickens;
- To determine the effect of the bioproduct BIOCHLOFEEDⓇ on the weight gain of broilers, as well as on the feed ratio and drinking water consumption.
Description of the experiment
Experiments were carried out in the vivarium of the Stavropol State Agrarian University in
September-October 2019 on broiler chickens of the Ross-308 cross, of which 3 groups were
formed, 1000 broilers each. Poultry of all groups received a basic diet, the energy and nutritional
value corresponded to generally accepted standards. The duration of the experiment was 42
days. At the end of the experiment, a control slaughter of 6 heads from each group was carried
out, biological material was selected for analysis, and morphometric indicators and the
development of internal organs were studied.
Option one (Control):
The vitamin-amino acid complex Chicktonic, Invesa (Spain) in a volume of 1 ml/l was added to the
drinking water of the first (control) group throughout the experiment.
Option two (Experimental)
The second (experimental) group was given undiluted BIOCHLOFEEDⓇ bioproduct in addition to
water (separately) throughout the experiment. The feeding rate increased from 5 ml at the
beginning to 30 ml per head at the end of the experiment.
Option three (Experimental)
The third (experimental) group throughout the experiment, in addition to water (separately), was
given the bioproduct BIOCHLOFEEDⓇ diluted in water at a concentration of 1:2. The feeding rate
increased from 5 ml at the beginning to 30 ml per head at the end of the experiment.
Efficiency mark
The main indicators for assessing the effectiveness
of feed additives are the dynamics of changes in poultry live weight and feed consumption per 1 kg of weight gain during the growing process. The following results were obtained for the groups: average live weight of 1 broiler at the end of the experiment - 2565 g (one), 2895 g (two), 2709 g (three); the average live weight of 1 broiler before slaughter is 2236g (one), 2841g (two), 2557g (three); average weight of 1 gutted carcass - 1651g (one), 2254g (two), 1972g (three); feed
conversion ratio - 2.27 (one), 1.92 (two), 1.98 (three); water consumption, liter per kg of weight gain - 11.34 l (one), 7.68 l (two), 9.89 l (three).
Impact on stress
The stress associated with transporting poultry to the slaughter point and the lack of adequate
nutrition during this period led to a decrease in live weight in all groups. It turned out to be
greatest in the control group, while weight loss in the second group, which received the maximum
amount of the BIOCHLOFEEDⓇ bioproduct, was 6 times less than the control group.
Impact on physiology
The physiological effect of the BIOCHLOFEEDⓇ bioproduct was also assessed by the
development of internal organs and the content of certain vitamins in the blood serum and in the
liver of the broilers. The liver of chickens in the experimental groups had a cherry color, while in
the control group it had a yellow tint, which may be a consequence of fatty infiltration and liver
degeneration. In all experimental chickens, there was an increased level of uric acid in the blood
of chickens, and a threefold increase was noted in the second group. This apparently reflects the
level of protein metabolism, which turned out to be more intense in the experimental groups. The
level of vitamins in the blood of poultry (Carotenides, Vitamins A, B2, U) was significantly higher
in the experimental groups, especially in the second.
Main conclusions:
The bioproduct BIOCHLOFEEDⓇ is a promising source of biologically active substances in poultry farming, providing:
- Significant increase in poultry productivity;
- Reducing the cost of production and improving its use value;
- Reducing the toxic load of feed when raising broilers
